2019 - 2023 - Served as a Digital Diplomacy and Communications Manager at The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), working on strategic communications, digital content campaigns, and media relation, to promote international humanitarian law, operational activities and policy goals on conflicts in Ukraine, Ethiopia, Syria, Yemen, etc, and on issues such as cyber security, the missing, dis/misinformation, weapons control, and nuclear disarmament.

Times Square Billboards

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine broke out, many questioned the work of the ICRC. I directed a project working with Neutron Media to remind the public of the work of the ICRC, including family reunification and the importance of International Humanitarian Law and the Rules of War.

Along with screenings in Times Square, NYC, this project was also screened in Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo.

Working From Home

At the start of the Covid19 pandemic many humanitarian workers struggled with their role and how to do their work. This video was produced to remind everyone why the ICRC’s work is so important.

Fortnite Liferun

In 2020 The ICRC partnered with gaming influencers, professional gamers, and Wunderman Thompson to create Liferun, a custom game mode in Fortnite, a cross-platform online video game.

In Liferun, players save lives instead of killing to win. The mode is based on real-world ICRC missions, such as delivering supplies, defusing mines, rescuing civilians in conflict zones, and rebuilding vital infrastructure like schools.

Working with the ICRC team, I launched Fortnite Liferun at Pax South 2020 and presented the game at the 37th ICRC and New York University Seminar on International Humanitarian Law.

‘What Keeps You Up’ campaign

The ‘What Keeps You Up’ campaign was produced during the 76th UN General Assembly with the aim to highlight issues of concern for key ICRC leadership and field staff, by answering two questions:

“What keeps you up at night?” and “What wakes you up in the morning?”
